2022 Ford Transit Connect XL vs XLT vs Titanium

As you move up the three trim levels, each passenger van provides a longer list of standard features and the starting price goes up. Choosing between these models is a balancing act between which features you want and how much you’re willing to spend.

2022 Ford Transit Connect MSRPs

• Transit Connect XL: $27,920

The entry-level Transit Connect XL comes standard with seating for six passengers, but seating for seven is optional. And, although this model comes with comfy cloth seats, you can always opt for easy-to-clean vinyl upholstery instead.

XL:

When you upgrade to the XLT Passenger Wagon, you’ll enjoy a longer list of tech features, including complete smartphone integration. And features like forward collision mitigation help your drivers stay out of trouble. Six seats are standard, but seven-passenger seating is also optional. Leather-trimmed seats are also optional for the XLT.

XLT:

At the top of the 2022 Ford Transit Connect lineup, the Titanium adds to the aforementioned features with richer interior comforts, including standard leather upholstery. Once again, six-passenger seating is standard, but seven-passenger seating is available.

There are two powertrains available for the Transit Connect:

• Turbo 2.0L four-cylinder engine (162 hp, 144 lb-ft) + eight-speed automatic transmission
• 2.5L four-cylinder engine (169 hp, 171 lb-ft) + six-speed automatic transmission

The turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine is standard on all three trim levels. The only Transit Connect Passenger Wagon that’s available with the more powerful 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, however, is the base XL.
